Saving the Nation’s Pictorial Heritage

Sarah-Jane and Robin Fell are partners in the archive having taken over from Barry and Janet Hoper in August 2017.

The Transport Treasury now comprises over 300,000 negatives, mostly of railway subjects but with some buses, traction engines, ships etc and aims to be self-financing.  It is probably the largest privately owned transport archive in the United Kingdom.  We have purpose-built premises to house the collection with full digital imaging facilities.  The archive includes work of some well known names such as R C Riley, Dr Ian C Allen, Roy Vincent, John Robertson, Mike Mitchell  Stan Creer, J C Flemons, A E Bennett, Arthur Carpenter, Alec Swain Tony Bennett, Horace Gamble, Eric Sawford, W A C Smith, Dave Clark, Roy Hobbs inter alia.  We continue to build up our archive with the purpose of providing images digitally to the railway enthusiasts, publishers and authors.
